Workforce Needs, Employer and Educational Remedies

This panel will help all of us, as educators, counselors, employers, economic developers, community members, and more, to better understand the emerging health workforce needs in our region. Dr. Carrie Sutter from George Mason University will begin with a brief overview of high-level state data about workforce needs (perhaps include a slide with QR code that leads to tables and stats). Following this birds-eye view, panelists will discuss ways they are using this data to build health workforce pipelines that are accessible to interested students across GO Virginia Region 2. During the session, participants will hear about summer programs offered by two major health systems along with a regional community college, as well as learn about other programs offered by employer and educational partners of the Blue Ridge Partnership for Health Science Careers
